Winter

Finding the beauty

Which drop will be the first to go, from clear and change to white, falling down from above, a chagrin to many, to some a delightful sight

It is the change, that we knew, would eventually come about

And then as suspected, there it was, left without any doubt

The mindset changes, as we prepare, with different clothes, and preparations

Things brought inside, tires changed, for the pending encapsulation

There will be times of celebration, of holidays and such

That come with winters onset,

Family, friends and others, soon to be in touch

The New Year beckons, as a time one might think, to make changes and resolutions

And the following months to test one’s patience, and one’s constitution

Days very cold, with the winds, that will surely bite the nose

A good book, while passing the hours, waiting for, spring to unfold

We are the hardy, of the north Midwest, and we’ve been here before

And for those, first time to experience, may say, “I can’t do this anymore”

Then as quickly as it arrived there is a glimmer of hope, and a subtle change

Glimpses of green, buds on trees, a new a time again, and hence to rearrange

Items put out, thoughts of new life, gardens that will be planted

To start it all again, within the new season, GODS gift that has been granted

So take the time that’s been presented, and enjoy its presentation

As a moment to take rest, and reflection,

Past, present, future, within contemplation
