The adornment once provided in her many forms,
and shapes
The shade and coolness from the sun,
a chance to dream under, give to escape
And autumn leaves of a varying array
Reds, yellows, golden, and brown
Worn as a masterpiece, its beautiful appearance,
gracefully as her crown
The sometimes mystical extensions of her branches, reaching up to the sky
A wave from her friends, the clouds, with grandeur, slowly drifting by
The beauty of a white cotton sheet, laid down upon her feet
An insulating assurance, and later food, to make this step complete
The winter is never humble and can place a frosting on the soul
But she manages, year after year, until it’s time again, a time allowed to grow
Then as temperatures begin to rise, and warmer days begin their march
Fine buds of green begin to adorn its mother
And fill her branches out
As leaves start to unfurl, a vast field of green,
A new generation given for the viewing, for all to be seen
Then onto the summer, with some of the ladies, providing flowers as well
Lasting for a short time, now within her arms to dwell
Then once again, the festivities of fall,
She’ll let her beauty fall unto the earth
Falling gracefully back and forth, the winds, guiding, to the Lords gentle rebirth
So one more time around the sun
And all her presence that has arisen
With her partners, Sun, cold, rain, and snow and all that she has given
JUST A START
