Another Ode to Autumn

I see the leaves rustle,
brown tips starting to show,
a few beginning their graceful decent,
to the earth below

the breeze gives a sense,
of that which is approaching,
in a melancholy feeling,
steady and quite slow

Awakening to the crispness of the morning,
a slower move into its light,
darkness closer in tow

Time seems to move a little slower,
and perhaps is a more adjourned way,
a gentler way to flow

That feeling of loneliness
like an old friend left behind,
that will not be seen soon again

While still enjoying
feelings in the remembrance,
not how it ended,
but how it all began

There is a subtle feeling
that seems enchanting,
but welcoming to the soul

A bit of a mystery,
one I once encountered,
one that feels good to know

As grand trees reach,
to tickle the sky,
revealing themselves,
their tiaras of beauty,
soon to be gone

And patiently await
for another time to display,
a new and majestic crown

While the smaller friends
within earths domain,
will begin to wither and recede

Will await warmer times,
to provide the adornment,
to their friends
the stately rising trees

And so the seasons
promotion of its place,
stirring all the senses,
will await for a time to come again,
and be graced by God’s gifts
and his presence.
