Just Another Moment

Ah yes, the sky has provided, it’s fluffy white fun once again

Gently falling, in its graceful fashion, with just a bit of wind

The shovels yearning, for their time, to provide the enjoyment for the back

A grunt and a groan, before being hung back, up on the rack

Supposedly tomorrow the sun will shine, but even more cold…..oh well

Tis the season, I’ve heard it said it’s just Minnesota, and soon we’ll say farewell

So I’ll count my blessings, and enjoy the moment, nothing more I can do

Maybe I’ll wine just a little, and call and talk to you😊

Stay safe and warm everyone 🌟🌟🌟

In the Midst

In the midst of the coldest of winter
Gray days and such
The furnace doing its best
Gotta love it. . .but that’s just a hunch

To put on a sweater, a coat, a hat, and gloves
To start your car ahead leaving
And to do your chores, As one does

The boots you’re wearing, a bit clunky at their best
Possibly a shoveling or two
Gosh, give it a rest

TV time to fill in the hours, as we go through our nights
Waiting for more delight from the skies
Oh so fluffy and so white

But what the heck, we could be down south
where it’s sunny and warm
But we of brave, and hardy souls
Know that would not be of good form

But maybe we can take that chance, and away we can go
We’ll just explain to others later
That we didn’t know 🤪

We’ll call and write, and complain about the food
And the people being a bit different
And how you have it back home, oh so good

And until you pick us up from the airport,
and drive us home
Forget about our tans
So sorry we left you alone

We’ve got gifts in our bags,
because we never forgot about you
How you took care of our pets
And fed our goldfish too

We promise not to talk about,
our walks on the beach
Or the fun by the pool
Or any other, annoying speech

So glad to be home, with our family, friends, and pets
Seems like it was so long
It’s now snowing, I guess I know what’s next

To get back to it, and get the shovel and my back,
ready to go
Something I didn’t miss
You’ve got to love that snow

Next year🌟

In the Quiet

In the quiet of mornings awakening,
when opening eyes present the new day.
When thoughts begin to enter one’s mind,
ideas to provide a way.

Sometimes racing, sometimes elusive,
as you sort it all out.
Hoping an answer as a solution,
leaving you with no doubt.

Many times we will begin again,
with the new dawn
Many times with vim and vigor,
just to lounge around.

And as I grow older, perhaps more patient,
a little wiser as well.
I’ll mosey forward with good intent,
and allow time to tell.

Wishes of happiness, and kindness of heart,
to all on this day
May you also pass on those sentiments,
to those whom you pass along the way.

May God be within and upon you 🌟

Today I Will

Today I will do things
And patch them together
As they come
One after another

Loosely sewn
To unite my fabric
Often not that neat
But no no need to panic

I’ve learned
As I grow and age
The person within
Can still change

I am an older dog
But not with a mind set
Still malleable
And without any regret

So as my pages turn
Day after day
I’ll look upon my path
As given my way

I needn’t worry
The past I cannot change
To live in this moment
No matter how strange

My awareness today
Connected again and again
Consistently starting
But never an end

Attempts for adjustment
As I move on
Not always successful
Non-the-less thereupon

I will remain happy
Despite the content
The choice to accept
And not to resent

May blessings find you
Lie gently on your mind
As you pass through your life
Given as your time

The Sun Shines Brightly

The sun shines brightly
A glisten on the snow
The wind briskly blowing
And a nip at your nose

The crisp sounds
Of tires as they roll
The harshness of a winter’s day
Through naked trees it blows

No longer just freezing
Rather much below
A question to be asked
How much further will it go

A pass by waters
Stillness frozen in time
A calmness that pervades
Like silence in the mind

It’s soon I’ve heard
That temperatures will rise up
If only for a few days
A quick breath, to catch up

From day to day
From up to down
The seasons play
Like a merry-go-round

We are a Nordic bunch
That can complain with the best
We’ve been here before
We know it will pass

So we’ll hunker down
And wait for the spring
What the heck. . .
It ain’t no big thing

And when it has passed
In rearview mirrors sight
Well pump our fists
“We’ve won the fight”
