Oh to test or to tempt fate, a learning of lessons at an early age,
but even some of us, in the more golden years,
occasionally don’t hesitate.
It could start with simple touch of the tongue,
to a frozen pole
Or a jump into water, without knowing, just how cold.
And graduate from there, as to,
‘just how fast can this car go’
Possible dire results, possibly after,
when it’s to late to know.
Something simple, as the taste of a chili,
while others watch on, and fancy to know.
That might end with a gasp, and sweat on the brow,
and of course, bravery to show.
But these are just examples, usually harmless,
as we move on.
But there is one for myself, I’ve learned
Not to test, but accept as I’ve found.
I speak of the God, the omnipresent one,
that is so often challenged to a test.
‘if you give me what I need, I’ll take care of the rest’
But I feel as though there is much,
to be received, and is given
Left by the Lord for you, to make your own decision.
His guidance is available, should you be aware,
and choose to listen
Not always in books, and not always in a religion.
But as daily reminders, of both the ugly and the beauty
For you to see, and to choose, what is your duty.
Never give up, learn to be patient, for you will be tested
Not by the Sugmad, but by all of the rest of us.
We all have desires and visions, of what we might feel,
as best or correct.
Often swayed by opinions of others, sometimes reckless,
and with neglect.
But if you judge first, with kindness and with Love
The light of safe passage on your path, will shine from above.
So may you take with you, on this day, no temptation of fate.
But the Love that is provided, within the grace, and your faith.
