That first sip of coffee,
to help the stars align,
a chance to jump start my day,
and figure out what’s on my mind
Feed the animals, feed myself,
going back to bed?,
as things begin spinning,
around in my head
Opening the shades,
a glimpse outside,
realizing now,
I can’t run and hide
The days presentation has begun,
and cannot be denied,
best to just go with it,
and not be left behind
I’ll tally forth bravely
with privilege and pride,
oops. . .I settle and calm down,
when I finally open my eyes
May the interest of the day
be kind and most gratifying,
provide love in truth,
without the wavering of deciding
