The Start

That first sip of coffee,

to help the stars align,

a chance to jump start my day,

and figure out what’s on my mind

 

Feed the animals, feed myself,

going back to bed?,

as things begin spinning,

around in my head

 

Opening the shades,

a glimpse outside,

realizing now,

I can’t run and hide

 

The days presentation has begun,

and cannot be denied,

best to just go with it,

and not be left behind

 

I’ll tally forth bravely

with privilege and pride,

oops. . .I settle and calm down,

when I finally open my eyes

 

May the interest of the day

be kind and most gratifying,

provide love in truth,

without the wavering of deciding
