To Be Together

To say the things that inspire, with love and kindness,
bring happiness and calm sighs
To provide a smile, provoking gentle words,
that bring a glimmer from your eyes,

To grasp your hand, held out in need,
and provide help without qualification
Giving a gentle touch across furrowed brows,
that help to ease our tension

These are the things I think to do,
while sitting next to you
As I hold back the tears, awaiting,
for our time together here, soon to be through

The solace that I find, is in appreciation,
of the beauty of our time together
And that God will provide for both of us,
through darkness and stormy weather

So we’ll say our goodbyes, sadness in our hearts,
knowing it’s not the end
Awaiting the moment, that we will embrace each other,
smiling once again

In final earthly words, I ask that God bestow upon you,
his blessings and his grace
Knowing that where you are, you’ll keep the seat warm,
saving me a place

With so much LOVE

Your child

Requiem of a Desire

A contemporary of all things modest and kind,
one that gathers a peaceful sense by listening,
and a smile emanating inside

Where a light shines in the dark,
and warm arms embrace,
and the sweetness of life upon the tongue,
is all that you taste

God not a promotion, another’s directive,
or a need during an emotion,
but an orientation, felt inside, as natural,
and not just a notion

Not a need to boast, staying still within myself,
knowing, and not changing, for anyone else

When the rise of the sun sees a smile on my face,
and the moon dances in my eyes
Fascinated with clouds passing by,
resting in quiet silence,
with satisfied sighs

Then I will lie in the meadows of green grasses,
and watch butterfly’s flit about
With the senses of calm,
and the feeling of no doubt

Start It All Again

It was a day of accomplishments, and one with some holes,
more to partake in tomorrow, as on it always goes

When plans were laid, an attempt to bide my time,
a few miscalculations, but well prepared in my mind?

Perhaps ill take today off, and do nothing at all

Awaiting for nothing to happen, and just let the pieces fall

I’ll start again later, gazing, breathing a calming sigh

Another step forward, distant thoughts, a look up to the sky

Or maybe I’ll rest my head upon you, hold your hand in mine,

Smile and tell you how much you mean to me,
let it be, the only thing on my mind

Do it all over

A Mere Thought?

Sometimes I feel far away,  from where I think  I should be,
Like in a trance, suddenly waking up, as if it were a dream

And there are those times, that come as a surprise, an awakening of sorts,
That I shake my head and think instead, there’s nothing here, for me to report

Perhaps I’ll pull the blinds, to darken the room, to see if things will change
Pieces once put neatly together, seem in a twirl, and a just a little bit strange

It’s interesting how a mind can wonder, and dilute the present visions
Revolving round-and-round, with offerings but nothing as a final decision

Silly how so many ideas blend in, from whence we begin
To ending up, in consternation, back to where it all began

The cloth we weave is so often, both rough and smooth
Added beads and colorful lace, adorning, through and through

But as is the case when speaking out, that which is on your mind
In retrospect, there could have been, better words spoken at that time

Life’s journey, seems to be evolving, as another corner is turned
Wondering if at the finish line I’ll recognize, all the lessons I’ve been meant to learn

My wish is for all is to be happy and find the truest of Love
And feel Gods blessings within your soul, as his gift from above

Still Young and Proudly a Bit Silly

all things change,  nothing is ever the same, but for a moment all is clear
waving arms like magic had occurred, then a smile from the eyes, eyes with no fear

wondering and roaming, and never feeling home, is something left behind?
Door after door, as if it was before, searching, nothing new here to find

a grasp, to hold onto, with no sense of
having to move on again
conventional, and rational parameters, so it all might fit in

argyle socks and paisley shirts, pin striped pants to be in
Cheeks rosy and aglow, the beanie with its propeller, one that really spins

Hair parted down the middle, pomade
flipping ends
a bow tie neatly fastened  to adorn as not to tilt or bend

Then back to the freckles of a young mind piecing it together
Though neatly attired, still the questions lie upon my mind. . .whether?

On with the sunrise, up and on my journey for the day
Awaiting later reflections, of what I have passed along my way

So the story of a life of thought, adornment and reflection goes
And. . .of course it’s always anew, that one can never know

Walk with eyes open, be ready to be amazed, taking it all in
As what has passed, and happily greeting,
all that will begin

Enjoy the moments of your day!!!
