The Senses

dew drips slow and graceful from the petal,
sweetness of a rose passes gently by
air surrounding its bits of crispness,
as the sun joins with the sky

darkness recedes,
moving to the west,
the the other side to view

The night has passed,
to lights awakening,
with all things again to renew

Another beginning, the past in tow,
the future ahead with the opening of an eye

A new thought passes, ideas begin,
just more moments, to wonder why

Time needn’t remember, it’s busy moving ahead
Waiting for no-one and offering no regret

Rather it lives within the moment,
as its only choice
Finite in its movement,
and a vastness it cannot avoid

Time is truth that takes with it,
each and everyone
Offering but what it is,
pure and unchanging,
tirelessly never done

So I’ll spend the time
given me to admire the dew,
and smell life’s beautiful scents
Enjoying each sunrise,
and admiring the sunsets

Amen

The Jar

I sat with my mother
when I was very young,
I was sad and crying a bit,
and feeling very down

She asked what is the problem,
I told her of all my serious woes,
and just to be sure,
I donned a mournful frown

She suggested that I gather myself,
and asked me to think of the things
that made me happy and made me smile

She said all these experiences,
are lessons received,
the beginnings of a child

She said take all that Love
and put it into a jar called soul,
and keep it next to you

Every time another Love comes,
gather it up and save it,
for when you are feeling blue

Soon you will find,
if the times are unkind,
or maybe your down and feeling alone
and left out

That you can reach into soul the Love
you have collected,
and cast away any doubt

Your Love you have gained,
can always be attained,
and used when you need it most

When your thoughts of struggles and loneliness,
and the darkest of times do approach

The jar that’s Soul is given by The Lord,
a cache created and will never run empty

As long as you give out,
to those whom are in need,
yours will always be full and plenty

So keep that jar near,
walk not in fear,
and may you share it with others often

It is a gift given,
to show on your path,
that the Love of God is never forgotten.

A Trees Day on the Prairie

A 4 years old remembrance of a sight and time long ago in North Dakota

I see the lone tree standing tall, in a field looking alone,
as birds come by to greet it and friends climb high, to get a better view,

its leaves tickling the sky, as just to say hello,
while providing cooling shade for God’s creatures, gathered down below,

and its feet though covered, grasp tightly  within the earths terrain,
and grow out far enough to grab the nectar, that we know as rain,

and there’s the moss that’s on one side, that does seem to grow,
adorning it as a soft cladding, it may even be looked at, as part of its clothes,

the breeze that ruffles its plumage, as its sound it is heard,
and speaks softly and calmly, without ever saying a word,

through stormy weather, and darkest of days, it may loose a limb or two,
but it’s ok it has more , more than just a few

a time of year will come, where its tiara was once worn,
where the beauty of it structure will be available, for all to be shown

It is soon after, that something called a hoar frost may lie upon its presence,
a symbiotic relationship, to provide, a beautiful appearance,

and a for a few moments, a gathering of white, sometimes its branches piled high,
until the wind comes upon it, while its passing by,

and as is the timing, there begins a subtle change,
a new growth appears, and eventually all, will be back to the same,

nests will be built, within a canopy provided for its feathered friends,
and a coolness below for others, when the sun shines hot, a kindness it extends

So as I ponder about the loneliness, the situation of that tree,
I begin to realize how much more, it has going on, I now can plainly see.

The Fabric

Real men can accept humility
and forget hostility,
remove vanity
and move confidently

Never have to show their strength
and prowess, or invite a dare,
but instead give themselves to
kindness to show how they care

Not be outwardly brazen or act proud,
but speak softly, never angry or loud

These are the true men to be looked at
on even ground, the ones that act
only equal, and happy to be around

For the partners in life
no matter what the gender,
the ones of beauty and grace
and never a pretender

With smiles that beam and shine,
through darkest of times,
with a gentle touch that lies ever so softly,
upon your mind

No pretense to act,
as someone other than they may be,
satisfied with whom they are,
no matter what you may see

They are most happy for themselves,
when you’re feeling most happy too,
walking together, in your time,
even when that time is through

They would wish for you,
warm and kind thoughts,
and always put you first
For their needs are God sent,
for you to find love,
and never for you to thirst

So may you find that one
that makes you full,
and happiness abounds
Even though not always together,
you know they’ll always be around.

A Prayer and a Thought for Today

The gathering of empirical information

is meant to be intelligences success

Where wisdoms sense always takes time,

left to have clarity and true awareness

For me I often stumble,

calculating what I have learned

from what I have been taught

Then comes the step back, was it as real,

as I might have thought

A clearing of the cache,

and an emptying of once were thought of as indelibly

etched upon one’s mind

And given way to no beliefs,

but allowing what it actually is at that moment,

happening at that time

It can be a complicated assembly,

this creation of our fabric,

that we often feel is so refined

To see truth, in its most naked state,

and so well defined

I know I have dismissed this clarity,

as perhaps just another lie

Only later to realize, why earlier on,

I failed to question why

Alas for me, another entity placed,

upon earths fragile peace

Surrounded by those who’s intentions are to involve others,

in their greed,

without consideration for kindness of humanity

I will pray today, and await,

for God’s blessings, of resolve

You may think of it as idle hope,

but I for one feel his presence from above

So I will take this day with hope,

and Love in my heart

And have it be my desire,

that you all will be a part

Work at kindness,

provide a smile,

give Love and know that your Lord is omnipresent.
